Project Management

Project Managers are the key stake holders in a project bringing together all aspects the puzzle and ensuring that everyone involved is on track and on target. The team at Proteus have a long history of being involved with and delivering projects in some of the most renowned shipyards and alongside some of the most elite race teams in the world. This experience is key when it comes to identifying the right project managers to help your company or team deliver on target and in good shape.

We have provided Project Managers and Project Engineers to some of the most well renowned shipyards throughout Europe on both new builds and at all levels of refit. We have also had great success in placing project managers with specialist sub-contractors including Teak Deck installation on a 140m+ mega yacht, mast build projects in Holland and on several Superyacht paint projects in the UK.

Naval Architect

We have work closely with many naval architects throughout Europe and further afield. All have earned (as a minimum) a degree or diploma recognised by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), and a recognised national or international engineering qualification, such as Chartered Engineer (C.Eng), Incorporated Engineer (I.Eng), European Engineer (Eur.Ing) or Professional Engineer (Peng or PE).

We have provided workers skilled in structural inspections, scanning, and custom design projects that span multiple technical disciplines requiring detailed engineering and logistical support as well as project managers for skilled trades.

Proteus is also proud to have provided teams to help on the building of luxury performance race projects.

Design

The design and styling of a Superyacht to create the perfect sanctuary and home from home for the ultra-high net worth client is key. In order to successfully deliver a project at this level, you need a creative team working at the highest level of detail. Proteus has an extensive network and database of designers across all stages of the build process, from initial concept, research, prototyping, build and modification to final delivery.

Whether working on the exterior styling, interior design, systems, AV designing a deck layout, every aspect of Superyacht design needs to blend together to create the overall experience. Our focus is getting the perfect design candidate to help realise the project at each and every stage.

At Proteus we have experience recruiting across all aspects of design and to the highest levels. As part of our process we will go to market and search for the best talent across Marine, Aviation, Automotive, Architecture and Interior Design to give you the cutting edge.

Engineering

Engineering encompasses a number of different sectors/departments. From project management through to Naval architecture. Building on our industry specific knowledge as a team we constantly research and review skills to make sure we understand the industries evolving needs.

Sales & Marketing

We understand the importance of the sales process to your business. Having the right Marketing and Sales are essential to drive the company forwards. We have first-hand experience of the processes involved in yacht brokerage and charter. While at Future Fibres, Dale was involved with the many stages of selling Superyacht Rig Packages and the aftercare to generate repeat custom. Sales are the lifeblood of any company, we will go the extra mile to make sure that you have the very best.

Boatbuilder

At Proteus, we are able to source highly skilled individuals or put together teams, adept in delivering a professional service on the complete array of marine vessels. This ranges from fully trained shipwrights using traditional techniques, through highly qualified, multi-disciplined boatbuilders able to literally work on every aspect of build, right through to composite boatbuilders working in Carbon fibre, Kevlar, Nomex and hybrids, using the complete range of composite techniques.

Projects we have assisted our clients with include New build Megayachts, working on both traditional and modern classic Superyachts, America’s Cup, Volvo and IMOCA campaigns.

Composites

We have experience of working with and recruiting the complete range of skills across the entire spectrum of composites manufacturing.

Whether your laminating a series production craft in chopped strand Fibre Glass or your building the most high-performance race yacht on the planet in pre-preg carbon, we can source the right candidates with the right skills and abilities to deliver for you.

Carpentry - Cabinetmaker

We at Proteus have worked with numerous shipyards and specialist carpentry businesses providing yacht carpentry services. We are able to source a full range of workers who are skilled in building customised cabinets, furniture, tables and teak yacht decking. They are experienced in working from blueprints and construction drawings and can plan sequence of cutting operations.

Mechanical Fitout

As the Superyacht sector continues to build ever larger vessels, the demand for more highly trained and skilled mechanical fitters continues to grow with it.

Utilising our database of time-served specialists from both Marine but also Military and Aviation we provide experienced mechanical engineers to work on engines, hydraulics, pumps, and other mechanical systems within the vessel. Able to work from drawings either independently or as part of a team.

At Proteus we will find you the best Mechanical fitters for installation, fabrication or repairing of heavy machinery projects, in the shipyard or onboard. We will make sure your project is perfectly set for the rigorous challenges ahead.

Fabrication & Welding

We are proud to provide Lloyds’ certified metal work specialists. Over the years we have worked with some of the finest yachts in the world and we understand the need for the highest standards of workmanship, particularly when facing tough technical problems

Our Welder and Fabricators work in stainless steel deck fittings, handrails, biminis, furniture, decorative interior items, to an extremely high visual level.

Plumbing and pipe works are installed in all types of materials, steel, cunifer, aluminium, stainless steel, bronze, and plastics.

Audio Visual (AV)

Proteus can source technicians who specialize in installation, maintaining and troubleshooting audio, video, and lighting equipment. These contractors also have experience in connecting, tuning, and configuring AV setups to ensure high-quality presentation throughout the yacht.

We at Proteus promise to work closely with all major shipyards to undertake any newbuild or refit work. Our contractors are accustomed to working wherever the boat is located. Whether they are 25m vessels to 170m, we can cater for all sizes.

We understand the importance of a high class entertainment service on board, and Proteus are happy to provide technicians who can offer full device compatibility (for anyone who comes onboard), internet and network technologies to work regardless of the location of the boat, and uninterrupted supply of satellite TV, movies, console Games and Streamind.

Deckfitter

Proteus Recruitment have an ample portfolio of marine decking specialists. We have deployed teams of up to 40 deckfitters working on projects up to 145m across the world including Japan, Middle East, and other major shipyards in Europe. We have single-handedly managed travel, visa processes, accommodation and ensured swift payments for projects running up to 12 months or more. We pride ourselves on our close relationships with our clients and ensuring complete transparency to ensure that projects can be completed to a highest quality standard.

We can also provide Team Leader/Project Managers as part of the team of skilled deckfitters to deliver your project. They are experienced in using both classic and modern techniques of installation to suit your needs and ensure that the deck will last a lifetime.

Painting

With over 15 years in the Superyacht coating industry, Proteus understands the complex logistics of delivering the perfect yacht finish. We have access to a wide range of skilled trades who can ensure your project is delivered to the exacting standards of the Superyacht industry.

Machining

Proteus provides specialists in metal fabrication specifically for the yachting industry, who can produce very technical items with a high degree of finishing. Our contractors are fully experienced in welding a range of metals (stainless steel, aluminium, copper-nickel, iron, etc.) and have the knowledge to study every special request to produce the best adapted solution.
