I am Dale Fisher. The founder and CEO of Proteus.

I have been in the marine world since Popeye was a teenager, so if you have spent time around docks, decks or rigging sheds in the last 30 or so years, chances are we’ve crossed paths somewhere along the seven seas.

Boats have shaped my whole life. I started sailing as a teenager off the Isle of Wight and never really stopped. I spent over two decades working as a mast and rigging specialist on some of the most demanding vessels out there – race yachts, superyachts, and just about everything in between. I’ve rigged, serviced, sailed, and sweated through projects with America’s Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and Rolex Maxi yachts. Sloops, megayachts, multihulls – you name it, I’ve done it.

I started Proteus because I saw a gap: a need for a recruitment partner who genuinely understands what is at stake on every project – someone who has stood on the deck, worked in the yard and can identify the type of person it takes to get the job done. Five years on, I am proud to say, I have gathered an amazing team, worked with clients in more territories than I have sailed to and keep delivering exceptional value every day.
