Baltic Yachts Service and Refit Mallorca (BYSRM) is one of the most experienced and trusted names in the yachting industry. Established in 2013 in Palma de Mallorca, the epicenter of Mediterranean yachting, BYSRM offers comprehensive, wide-ranging services backed by 50 years of world-class yacht building expertise. Our team of specialists ensures transparent reporting, efficient planning, and technical excellence to keep yachts in top condition. We manage projects encompassing everything from refit management and advanced composite work to the highest quality woodworking, in collaboration with skilled suppliers and contractors.
Job Overview
As the current Head of Service & Refit moves into new responsibilities within the company, we are seeking a General Manager to join and lead the business. This role will focus on the day-to-day activities, team management, and business operations. Over the first 12 months, the successful candidate will transition to a more strategic role, ultimately aligning with the title of Managing Director.
Role: General Manager (Future Managing Director)
Reporting to: CEO, Baltic Yachts
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering uncompromised world-class customer service and quality
- Leading the Service & Refit team to execute the growth strategy of Baltic Yachts’ Service & Refit business globally
- Participating in sales and marketing efforts
- Achieving business targets as outlined in the annual budget and long-term plan
- Strengthening internal processes and quality management
- Developing Service & Refit strategies and new business initiatives
- Serving as a member of the Baltic Yachts’ Management Team
- Building the organization’s reputation as world leaders in Service & Refit
- Implementing Baltic Yachts’ sustainability strategy at the core of the business
- Collaborating with market-leading suppliers and partners to offer clients the best solutions
- Ensuring seamless cooperation with Baltic Yachts’ operation in Finland
Additional Responsibilities as General Manager:
- Overseeing the day-to-day activities and running of the business
- Managing the team and ensuring smooth operations
- Handling negotiation and client management
- Managing high-pressure projects with short lead times and unmovable delivery dates
- Adapting to the constantly changing landscape of yacht refit and repair projects
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- Over 10 years of leadership experience within the yacht service & refit arena or the marine industry
- A proven record of managing profitable businesses with strong integrity and vision for future growth
- A result-driven approach with a clear focus on performance
- Experience leading diverse, highly skilled teams under pressure in a fast-paced service industry
- Solid production management experience in the service business
- Passion for developing the organization and managing processes to secure customer and employee satisfaction and growth
- Fluent command of spoken and written English; fluency in Spanish is highly desirable, and other languages are a plus
- Knowledge and experience of Spanish culture and good cooperation skills to build relationships with suppliers and the Baltic Yachts team in Finland
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
