Job Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to lead a Hauler Conversion project. In this full-time, contract position oversee planning, structural modifications, interior upgrades, and compliance to ensure a successful vessel transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive project plan, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with shipyard teams, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth execution of all conversion tasks.
- Supervise the repair and reinforcement of corroded tank tops to ensure structural integrity and compliance with safety standards.
- Manage the vessel extension process, including cutting the stern and building a new transom while maintaining balance and stability.
- Oversee the removal of the existing bow crane and procurement of a new, larger crane.
- Ensure proper installation, alignment, and load testing of the new crane to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Plan and manage extensive interior modifications to enhance functionality and safety.
- Address the lack of ventilation in the engine room by implementing an efficient ventilation system.
- Coordinate surface preparation and painting works to protect the vessel from corrosion and extend its lifespan.
- Ensure proper coatings and treatments are applied in compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure adherence to maritime regulations, classification society requirements, and safety protocols.
- Identify potential risks associated with structural modifications, equipment installations, and system upgrades.
- Monitor project expenditures and adjust plans as needed to prevent overruns.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure all work meets engineering specifications and safety requirements.
- Track progress against project milestones and report updates to stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in similar role, preferably in the superyacht industry with a focus on refit projects new builds or conversions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Background in engineering, design, or a related technical field is highly desirable.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team management.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility and adaptability to the dynamic nature of yacht projects.
- Passion for the superyacht industry and dedication to excellence.
- Proficiency in Office Suite.
- Proficient in English.
- Proficient in French is a plus.
- The right to work in the EU.
