Job Overview
A leading yacht design and engineering team in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced Naval Architect to support the development of explorer yacht new builds, conversions, and refits. The role involves contributing to the full design and engineering process while ensuring compliance with class regulations, technical standards, and client requirements, working within an international, highly skilled team on innovative marine projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support explorer yacht design, new builds, conversions, and refits.
Ensure compliance with class rules, regulations, and client requirements.
Develop and review technical designs, specifications, and measurements.
Monitor and ensure quality, stability, weight, noise, and budget targets.
Stay updated on maritime legislation, class rules, and industry innovations.
Support quotations, feasibility studies, and technical assessments.
Provide technical advice to internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with project managers and engineering teams.
Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients when required.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or Maritime Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience within yacht building or maritime engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Delftship, and CADMatic.
- Strong knowledge of class regulations and yacht design.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently within established guidelines, using analytical skills to solve complex problems.
- Service-oriented and customer-focused attitude.
