To support ongoing refit and maintenance activities, they are seeking an experienced Marine HVAC & Refrigeration Specialist to join their technical team on a contract basis.
Job Overview
The Marine HVAC & Refrigeration Specialist will be responsible for the diagnosis, maintenance, repair, commissioning, and optimisation of HVAC, air conditioning, refrigeration, and chilled water systems onboard luxury yachts and superyachts.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, vessel representatives, and technical teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions across multiple refit and maintenance projects. This role requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced marine environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist expertise across marine HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex faults relating to air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and chilled water systems.
- Carry out installation, repair, servicing, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Support yacht refit, upgrade, and maintenance projects from planning through completion.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and performance optimisation.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
- Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, captains, chief engineers, and vessel representatives.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
- Produce accurate service reports and technical documentation.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and provide technical recommendations where appropriate.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Proven experience working with HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience carrying out maintenance, repair, and commissioning activities.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to commence work at short notice.
- Eligibility to work within Spain and/or the European Union.
- Professional and client-focused attitude.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within the yacht, superyacht, marine, shipyard, or offshore sectors.
- English language proficiency.
- Spanish language skills would be advantageous.
