Job Overview
The Client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the construction and delivery of complex naval and professional-vessel projects at its shipyard.
The Project Manager will take ownership of assigned projects from initial planning through construction, testing, commissioning and final delivery. You will coordinate engineering, production, purchasing, quality, logistics, suppliers and subcontractors while acting as a key technical and operational contact for the client.
This is a hands-on shipyard role for someone who can maintain a clear overview of the entire project while remaining closely involved with daily production activity. You will be responsible for driving progress, resolving problems and ensuring that contractual scope, programme, cost and quality requirements are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead naval construction projects from planning to final delivery.
- Manage project programme, budget, scope, quality and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate engineering, production, purchasing, quality, logistics, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor production progress, identify risks and drive timely resolution of issues.
- Manage technical queries, design changes, non-conformities and corrective actions.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, sea trials, commissioning and final acceptance.
- Act as the main technical and operational contact for the client.
- Maintain accurate project reporting, forecasts and documentation.
- Oversee vessel completion, snagging and final handover.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in naval shipbuilding or a related marine environment.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager / Project Lead in a shipyard or industrial setting.
- Strong experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Good understanding of vessel construction and marine system.
- Ability to manage schedules, budgets, milestones, costs and project risks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong technical judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Professional English required.
- Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD and Rhinoceros.
- Willingness to work primarily on-site.
- Experience with aluminium, steel or composite vessel construction is desirable.
Salary and benefits
- Competitive employment package will be offered according to the successful candidate’s experience, technical background and suitability for the role.
- Why to join? – Lead complete vessel-construction projects rather than managing one isolated discipline.
-Work directly with engineering, production, procurement, quality and international clients.
– Join a shipyard with more than six decades of boatbuilding history.
– Contribute to naval, defence and professional-vessel programmes for international customers.
-Work with aluminium, steel and advanced composite construction.
– Participate in testing, commissioning, sea trials and final delivery.
– Join the company during a period of operational investment and international growth.
– Develop within a business combining established shipbuilding experience with new technologies.
