The Client
A specialist superyacht paint, finishing and refit business with around 20 years of industry experience, working across the Mediterranean with leading yacht owners, shipyards and industry partners. The company is entering an exciting growth phase, with Spain—particularly Valencia and Sagunto—becoming a key long-term base for its expanding international operations.
Job Overview
The Project Manager will support the delivery of Client’s superyacht paint, finishing and refit projects in Spain, ensuring projects are properly planned, resourced, communicated and completed to the required standard.
The role is hands-on and site-focused. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in shipyards, onboard yachts and alongside production teams, while also communicating confidently with senior stakeholders.
Paint and coatings knowledge would be useful, but this is primarily a project management role. The Client is looking for someone who can bring structure, pace, accountability and strong communication to complex live projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage superyacht paint, finishing and refit projects from planning through to completion.
- Manage project planning, labour allocation, equipment, materials, logistics and day-to-day priorities.
- Maintain project schedules, monitor progress and keep work moving at pace on site.
- Coordinate subcontractors, application teams, suppliers and internal resources.
- Communicate with captains, owners’ representatives, shipyard project managers, paint manufacturers and internal leadership.
- Support budget control, cost tracking, resource planning, change control and variation management.
- Monitor environmental and application conditions to ensure work follows manufacturer requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Proven project management experience in a complex technical, marine, refit, shipyard or construction environment.
- Strong planning, scheduling, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders, workstreams or operational priorities at the same time.
- Confident client-facing communication style with captains, owners’ representatives, shipyard teams and subcontractors.
- Ability to lead on-site teams, create accountability and maintain momentum under pressure.
- Commercial awareness, including budgets, resources, variations, delays and project risk.
- Practical enough to work close to the project, not only from a desk or reporting function.
- Fluent or strong Spanish language capability, with good English for international project communication.
- Legal right to work in Spain / the EU strongly preferred.
- Willingness to be based around Valencia / Sagunto long term, with travel to project locations when required.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in superyacht refit, yacht building, large-vessel repair or high-end marine services.
- Knowledge of paint, coatings, fairing, finishing, surface preparation or application environments.
- Experience working with Mediterranean shipyards, captains, management companies or owners’ representatives.
- Experience managing subcontracted labour, specialist application teams or project-based production teams.
- Existing network within the Spanish Mediterranean or wider European superyacht market.
Salary and benefits
- Competitive salary. The salary depends on the experience and suitability.
A great opportunity to join a growing specialist business, take ownership of high-profile superyacht projects, and play a key role in shaping its expanding Spanish operation.
