Job Overview
The Lead Engineer – Hull Construction plays a critical role in overseeing all aspects of hull construction within our explorer yacht projects. This role is central to ensuring the hull is designed and built in line with project requirements, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Engineer – Hull Construction, you will be at the core of our operations, responsible for overseeing and coordinating hull construction within our explorer yacht projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications, budgets, and schedules. Your primary responsibilities encompass:
- Oversee and coordinate all hull construction activities within explorer yacht projects.
- Ensure hull construction complies with project specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
- Lead the development of hull-related engineering packages.
- Manage technical information related to hull design and construction.
- Conduct feasibility analysis for hull plans and produce technical procurement specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure quality and compliance in hull construction.
- Monitor hull construction schedules and maintain project alignment.
- Support cost control measures, including hours reporting and variance management for hull scope.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for hull construction.
- Provide input to training and development related to hull engineering.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Lead Engineer, Head of Projects, and Project Managers to proactively address project-related issues and facilitate smooth communication.
Candidate Profile
- Relevant technical education at HBO level. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- More than 5 years of proven experience in senior engineering roles, with a strong focus on hull construction and outfitting for explorer yachts or other large vessels.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Extensive knowledge of marine hull construction, materials, and techniques.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- A deep understanding of industry regulations and classification society standards.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
- A passion for shipbuilding and a dedication to delivering exceptional results.
- Advanced software knowledge, including proficiency in AutoCAD, CADmatic, Windows, Share Point and Microsoft 365 as applicable.

Salary and benefits
What We Offer:

- An annual contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
- A salary ranging from €5,000 to €6,000 per month, based on a 40-hour working week, plus 8% holiday allowance.
- Direct participation in the Zwitserleven pension scheme.
