From its inception in 2014, the client has been ahead in the development and construction of handmade aluminium luxury motorboats.
Job Overview
As a Naval Architect you are part of the VQ Engineering team. You are responsible for supervising the external Naval Architect and keeping the customer’s wishes and shipyard-specific standards in mind. For the position of Naval Architect, we expect that you are up for a new challenge, are proactive, can communicate well, have an eye for detail, want to continuously improve, can work independently and that you think in terms of solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform your hydrostatic and strength calculations and check and assess your calculations;
- You interact with stakeholders and are a source of information for subcontractors
- You handle internal issues, you guide production in the implementation of the design and you provide information to the purchasing and production departments
- Monitor the calculated hours;
- You are involved from A to Z in the construction of an exclusive project and do you attend toolbox meetings and day/week starts.
Candidate Profile
- Has HBO work and thinking level.
- Have a background as an architect in yacht building and shipbuilding.
- Professional technical knowledge and broad knowledge of yacht/shipbuilding, such as knowledge of class and flag state.
- Have knowledge and experience with 3D software such as Solidworks and Rhinoceros.
- Masters the Dutch and English language.
