Job Overview
We are seeking an Onboard Coordinator to join our team.
The Onboard Foreman / Onboard Coordinator intervenes under the responsibility of a Project Manager. He / She takes in charge the site’s organisation and coordination between different stakeholders on site: workers guidance, working environment suitable for the works intended, client’s interface on site, company’s procedures application, logistics needs ensured.
Key Responsibilities
- Represents the company and protects its interests towards third parties (customers, suppliers), presents a positive, can do, happy image of the company.
- Regularly follows up of job list with project manager.
- Ensures works are conducted to required quality standards and HSE rules (security, fire precautions…).
- Requests and organises internal labour and/or specific contractors in agreement with the referent Project Manager.
- Participates in the good guidance and coordination of the teams (internal and external) working on the project and defers to the Manager any significant risk or dysfunction.
- Organises the workplace on board and in the project’s vicinity.
- Ensures logistical requirements of each job are in place including protection, storage, provision of electricity, and other connection supplies.
- Helping hand when urgently required.
- Reports on the progress of the work and communicates with the referent Project Manager especially in case of problems or changes in the schedule.
- Communicates with crew concerning minute to minute requests.
- Communicates with onboard workers concerning progress and any problems.
- Proposes to superiors improvements to existing procedure.
- Registers details of crane/forklift operations, time sheets for T&M works.
- Creates photo log / survey reports of workplaces and report failing elements.
- Keeps track of items stored.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in project coordination, site supervision, or foreman roles, ideally within a yacht refit yard or shipyard environment.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Excellent team management and communication abilities.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven, with with a “hands-on” attitude.
- Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and company representation.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); French is a plus.
- Availability to be based in La Ciotat for the duration of the project.
- The right to work in the EU.
