Job Overview

Result-orientated projects at the top tier of the yacht building industry offer high-levels of job satisfaction, while working in a close team on an exceptional product make this role varied and unique.

As a Project Leader in the Paint Exterior Production Department, you play an important role in achieving the high levels of quality within yacht projects. The quality of the exterior paintwork strongly determines the superior finish of each of their yachts.

The Paint Exterior Production Department consists of an international team of dedicated specialists who take care of the complete sanding, filler, and paintwork of the yachts. There is a shared passion for quality within the department. Every yacht is built at the company shipyard in Holland, resulting in a strong bond with the end product.

Communication between colleagues is direct, with the atmosphere both open and informal. Freedom and space to fulfil your responsibilities within the given framework, is typical of the company ethos.

Job Responsibilities

As a Project Leader, you will

  • be responsible for the day-to-day management of paint and fillers onsite
  • manage subcontractors for both the exterior paintwork and the paintwork within the yacht’s technical areas
  • monitor the progress of multiple projects to ensure that all schedules are met. With different disciplines working on each yacht simultaneously, efficient teamwork and clear communication are crucial
  • carefully check and monitor the quality of the work delivered
  • check that all work has been undertaken according to the contract and deliver regular progress reports to all involved parties
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a specialist with a sharp focus on quality and results who  combines professional knowledge with high managerial capabilities.

In addition, he/she will be:

  • manages stress well and keep a constant clear overview of all elements of each project you undertake
  • responds quickly and efficiently to changing circumstances, and has problem-solving abilities that are second to none

Education and Experience (ideally): 

    • An MBO-degree with a technical background
    • RMCI certified
    • NACE 1 & 2 certified
    • Extensive experience with high-quality sanding and paint systems, preferably in shipbuilding or bodywork construction
    • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office
    • A comprehensive level of English (oral and written), Dutch is a +
