The client, established in 2005 and based in Harlingen, Netherlands, is a renowned luxury yacht builder. The company specializes in custom-built superyachts and major refits, combining elegant design with advanced technology. Their state-of-the-art shipyard is equipped to handle yachts up to 150 meters in length, emphasizing innovation and sustainability in their craftsmanship.

Job Overview

Ensure that quality is maintained and that subcontractors, employees and customers comply. Provide substantive direction. Act as the interface between the project organisation and the client to ensure that the organisation meets all contractual project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advises and assesses the quality aspects for the project team and their coordination with the responsible parties.

  • Drawing up and managing project-related quality plans and inspection and test protocols.

  • Be responsible for accreditations, including monitoring and reporting activities in accordance with applicable ISO standards.

  • Coordinate project internal quality audit processes to ensure legislative and project requirements are in place.

  • Conducts in-person inspections on board where quality is of paramount importance.

  • Oversees external audits/inspections and manages and coordinates third parties during external quality audit processes.

  • Decides on approval or rejection of delivered products/services and provides feedback/advises on corrective actions to project team(s).

  • Develop and deliver staff instructions, training and briefings as identified by planned works, current best practice, and changes in legislation.

  • Be the key point of contact for risk (mitigation) reporting to the project manager and relevant stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the object manager in performing risk assessments, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Evaluate the quality management system on effectiveness and formulate improvement recommendations when needed.

  • Continuously develop the quality policy used within our organisation on the yachts present.

  • Be responsible for complying with the requirements of the project inspection and test plan; for completing all inspection reports and for the administrative handling of all comments and non- conformities received.

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, for communicating at all levels and giving work instruction.
  • Orderliness, systematic work and accuracy.
  • Being able to carry out work independently within the set guidelines.
  • Stress resistance in connection with activities that are under time pressure and where disruption can play a role.
  • Organizational skills for organizing work.
  • Service- and customer-oriented attitude.
