Job Overview
Join our team as a QHSE Coordinator, ensuring top standards in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance within a yacht building company. Collaborate with production, management, and stakeholders to create a safe, sustainable workplace and drive continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s quality management systems (ISO 9001 or other relevant standards).
- Ensure all yacht construction processes adhere to internal quality control standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for non-conformities and customer complaints.
- Conduct internal and supplier audits to maintain high quality standards.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure the company’s operations comply with local, national, and international health and safety regulations.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for all staff.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations, implementing preventative measures as needed.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness across all departments.
- Environmental Compliance:
- Oversee the implementation of the company’s environmental management system (ISO 14001 or equivalent).
- Ensure all production processes comply with environmental regulations, including waste management, emissions control, and sustainable practices.
- Monitor environmental performance and drive initiatives to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Support the QHSE Manager in leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Work with production teams to ensure consistent adherence to best practices and help drive a culture of excellence.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and ensure that the company’s practices comply with all applicable laws and standards.
- Liaise with external bodies and regulatory agencies for compliance audits and certifications.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a QHSE role within the yacht building, shipyard, or maritime sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of QHSE management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Strong understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental laws.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to influence and drive change.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across all levels of the organization.
- NEBOSH or similar health and safety certification is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- Certification in ISO auditing or QHSE management is a plus.
