Job Overview
The organisation is looking for a permanent employee to join their Design Office and be responsible for the design, integration, and production drawings of both deck outfitting and onboard mechanical systems for their luxury yachts. This includes deck layouts, transom and tender systems, technical areas, engine room design, drive train arrangement, electrical installations, pipe routing, and CNC file preparation.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical Coordinator, subcontractors, and designers to ensure seamless integration of deck outfitting and yacht systems.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Design/Drawing Office Supervisor, the candidate will:
- Design and produce 3D models for both deck outfitting (deck layout, transom, tender systems, hardware) and onboard mechanical systems (engine room, wiring, pipe runs, AC, drainage, etc.) using SolidWorks.
- Create 2D production drawings and prepare CNC files.
- Develop system schematics (P&ID) and technical diagrams.
- Check model interactions with interior and structural components.
- Ensure compliance with industry rules and regulations.
- Propose innovative solutions and improvements to decision-makers.
- Liaise with subcontractors and designers to ensure design integration.
Candidate Profile
Education:
- BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in the yachting industry is a strong plus.
Experience & Technical Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design, preferably in the marine industry.
- Strong experience with 3D parametric modeling (SolidWorks or similar) and 2D drafting (DraftSight, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of yacht mechanical systems, deck hardware, and outfitting.
- Practical sailing experience is a plus.

Salary and benefits
€50,000 – €65,000 per year, based on experience and industry standards.
