Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the all engineering processes of our shipyard and manage various local and foreign engineering contractors, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance in all yacht construction projects. This role requires significant experience in managing large-scale yacht construction, particularly in the 120-metre+ range.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Oversee the engineering team responsible for the design, development, and construction of superyachts. Ensure all engineering aspects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of over 20 engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Ensure the team is aligned with the project goals and deliverables.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance on all technical aspects of yacht construction, including structural engineering, systems integration, and naval architecture. Ensure that all engineering work is executed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Project Planning: Collaborate with the project management team to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and contractors, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions. Act as the primary point of contact for engineering-related matters with client’s team and external partners.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to the engineering aspects of yacht construction. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team to enhance efficiency, innovation, and quality in yacht construction processes.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in yacht construction, with a strong emphasis on projects in the 120-metre+ range. Proven experience in managing engineering teams and overseeing complex yacht build projects.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications is preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team of engineers towards achieving project goals.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of yacht construction processes, materials, and technologies. Familiarity with the latest industry standards and regulations.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including client’s technical team.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and finding innovative solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering projects of the highest quality.
