As a relatively new entrant in the industry, the shipyard is committed to innovation, craftsmanship, and excellence in yacht building. The team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of design and engineering to create world-class vessels

Job Overview

A prominent and expanding shipyard is seeking an experienced Managing Director (MD) to oversee its operations during an exciting phase of growth. The company is embarking on the construction of a prestigious 120-metre superyacht, alongside other large-scale projects. Reporting to the board, the MD will provide strategic leadership, ensure operational excellence, and drive the successful delivery of high-profile endeavours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organisational Leadership: Manage all aspects of the business, including the shipyard, joinery factory, and outfitting factory, ensuring efficient operations and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Project Oversight: Collaborate with project directors to ensure the timely delivery of current and future projects, maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Strategic Growth: Lead initiatives to expand the company’s project portfolio, positioning it as a leader in the luxury yacht sector for both new builds and conversions.
  • Board Collaboration: Act as a board member and liaise closely with other directors to execute the company’s vision and strategy effectively.

Additional Context:

The Managing Director will work as part of a small board of directors, reporting directly to the Chairman. While the Chairman is actively involved in other business ventures, the MD will take full operational responsibility for the organisation, including the shipyard and related facilities. The company is also expanding its facilities, investing in additional infrastructure, and positioning itself as a major player in the superyacht industry.

Candidate Profile
  • Proven success in a senior leadership role within yacht building or high-end construction industries.
  • Extensive experience with superyacht projects exceeding 100 metres, with expertise in new builds and major refits.
  • Strong understanding of shipyard operations, including construction, outfitting, and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, large-scale projects while maintaining rigorous quality and delivery standards.
  • Experience working with a board of directors and aligning operations with strategic goals.

  • Accommodation, company car, and regular flights home.
  • An opportunity to lead a world-class organisation with ambitious growth plans and prestigious projects.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a proven leader to take on a pivotal role in a growing shipyard, contributing to the successful delivery of high-profile projects and the company’s long-term success. If you have a passion for the superyacht sector and a track record of delivering excellence, we encourage you to apply.
